Camo Rescue Camo Rescue Magnolia, TX Magnolia, TX Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time From $14 an hour From $14 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago We have a 30-kennel rescue facility in Magnolia TX with 5 quarantine areas and have a need for a full or part-time kennel attendant to assist our managers in cleaning and promoting dogs for adoption.
Rescue, vet, kennel experience or shelter experience a plus but not necessary Duties:
Ensure the cleanliness of the kennel, including indoor kennel area, Quarantine kennels, outdoor runs, office, food prep area, and picking up around outside the grounds.
Feeding of animals.
Being able to successfully manage quarantine area and move dogs into and out of quarantine as needed.
Managing the veterinary needs of the dogs and possibly getting them to and from the vet.
Monitor and record important information about the animals' conditions, behavior and habits for adoptability.
Help take photos of the animals in our care and network them for adoption and posting for adoptions and our Facebook page.
Ensuring the animals have daily play time in the dog yard, work with volunteers to ensure this is met.
Maintain laundry throughout the day and keep laundry area neat.
Caring for dogs:
Providing food, water, and medications as instructed.
Monitoring the dogs' health and reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
Cleaning and sanitizing kennels:
Regularly cleaning the kennels and surrounding areas, including removing waste, mopping floors, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for the dogs.
Exercise and playtime:
Taking the dogs for walks, allowing them to play in designated areas, and providing them with appropriate exercise and socialization opportunities.
Grooming:
Brushing dogs' coats, bathing them, and trimming their nails.
Monitoring behavior:
Observing the dogs for any signs of distress, aggression, or illness and reporting any unusual behavior to the supervisor or veterinary staff.
Administering medication:
Following instructions to administer medications, including oral medications, topical treatments, or injections, to dogs as required.
Feeding:
Preparing and serving meals according to specified dietary requirements and feeding schedules.
Record keeping:
Maintaining accurate records of each dog's daily activities, meals, medications, and any other relevant information.
Customer service:
Interacting with adopters, answering inquiries about services, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
General facility maintenance:
Assisting with general maintenance tasks, such as cleaning common areas and ensuring the overall safety and cleanliness of the facility.
Qualifications:
Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations.
Team player a must.
Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Must be able to lift 50
lbs.
Dog food, etc.
Previous experience in animal welfare preferred, Must be able to handle behavior dogs as needed Job Types:
