Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
Assess and plan treatment programs for patients relevant to physical dysfunction and implement by direct or delegated care as ordered by physician. Serve as a professional care provider, educator, consultant and coordinator.
PATIENT AGE GROUP SERVED
Adolescence (12-18 years), Young Adult (19-40 years), Middle Adult (40-65 years), and Mature Adult (65 years and older)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate patient's level of function; develop and implement plan of treatment. EF

  • Monitor patient progress; maintain timely and accurate patient records. EF

  • Complete all patient documentation and enter charges for services provided. EF

  • Supervise those treatment delegated to PTA's and technicians. EF

  • Ensure proper scheduling of patients to maximize utilization of time and equipment. EF

  • Demonstrates ICARE Values. EF

  • Demonstrates Service PRIDE Standards. EF

  • Follows all safety rules on the job. EF

  • Perform other job duties as assigned. EF


  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
    Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy approved by the Council of Medical Education in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
    Must possess current OT licensure with the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners;
    OR
    Be eligible for Temporary Texas OT License; must obtain permanent Texas OT licensure within 90 days of employment.
    Current CPR Certification
    SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work as a team member.

  • Demonstrates good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel programs.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Includes inpatient units within the hospital setting, outpatient clinic and office areas.
The clinical settings might include exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood borne pathogens, blood and bodily fluids, contaminated open wounds, sharp instrumentation, adhesives and electrical equipment.
Adherence to universal precautions is required.
Patient lifting is required. (see Physical Requirements)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
