Director of Payroll & HRIS

Director of Payroll Job Description:  The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accuracy of payment to all employees according to the federal and state laws related to payment operations, taxation, deductions, and earnings. This includes responsibility for developing procedures to optimize and supervise the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of all payroll checks, payrolltaxes, and employee benefit payments. This role is required to oversee the day-to-day operations of the enterprise payroll function and ensure service delivery measured by key performance indicators: payment accuracy, speed of delivery, and employee satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIES: o Accountable for the accuracy of the preparation, documentation, and disbursement of all payroll checks, payrolltaxes to all employees; communicates across functions in order to ensure the accuracy. o Reviews additions and changes to earnings, taxes and deductions in the could-based payroll system (e.g., changes in salary, tax with holdings etc.). o Ensures accounting distribution and preparation of deductions; oversees remediation of any issues with the general ledger by making sure Finance and Accounting have all the information they need from payroll. o Confirms proper governmental reporting and compliance related to payroll and if new legislation is passed, identifies performance and data integrity issues associated with the change and updates processes accordingly. o Identifies and quantifies opportunities to drive efficiencies and automates processes within payroll, as well as, creates standard procedures for these tasks and integrates practices and processes into day-to-day payroll management. o Partners with HR Business Partners, HR Service Center, Legal, and other COEs, as necessary, to confirm accuracy in final distribution of pay and proper severance processing and payment. o Helps facilitate training sessions and reviews training documents to build stronger Payroll capabilities and speed of delivery. Serve as SME on ADP EV5 implementation update and clean-up REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: o Bachelor's Degree. o 7+ years of experience working in payroll and managing people. ADP EV3 or ADP EV5 implementation & upgrade experience. Experience supporting multi-state employee populations of 5,000+ PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: o APA and/or CPP certifications are preferred

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
